The Eldercare Foundation of Ottawa aims to provide sustainable funding and support to our local non-profit long-term care homes (LTC) in order to enhance the quality of life of our seniors.
Each year, The Eldercare Foundation of Ottawa provides grant funding to Quality of Life (QoL) projects in LTC. Specifically, successful projects must align with our three (3) strategic priorities:
- Projects and programs that promotes innovation and new ideas in the models of care the elderly living in long-term care;
- Projects and programs that focus on improving the emotional and cognitive well-being of the elderly living in long-term care, including dementia; and
- Projects and programs that focus on improving the physical well-being of the elderly living in long-term care, including but not limited to mobility, strength and dexterity, and comfort.
The application process begins in September. Applications are due by October 31st. Applications are evaluated and approved by our Grant Committee, which is a committee of our Board of Directors. Successful applicants are notified by November and grants are distributed during December.
